Questions related to Energy ID

What is an Energy ID?
An Energy ID is a unique identifier for individuals or companies that makes energy-related transactions in Luxembourg faster and more secure. You can find more details on the legal basis here.
Why do I need an Energy ID?
Starting in spring 2025, energy suppliers and other market actors will ask for your Energy ID to carry out transactions on your behalf. It is foreseen that every grid user will have an Energy ID by early 2027. Signing up on Leneda and getting your Energy ID will make energy-related processes much simpler for you and for the market actors involved.

Questions related to Onboarding

Why do I need to identify myself via LuxTrust or IDnow? Why do you need my personal data?
To keep your data secure, we can only allow access to real people. This ensures that you only see the data you’re authorized to access. As a result of this verification, you’ll also receive your Energy ID, which serves as your unique identifier in the energy market. Learn more here.
I don't have a LuxTrust mobile. How can I onboard?
No worries! If you don’t have LuxTrust Mobile, Leneda lets you verify your identity using your ID card or passport. Just select "I don’t have a LuxTrust certificate" when starting the onboarding process. Before you begin, make sure you have your ID card and a mobile device with a good camera, as phone cameras often work better than webcams.
Can I use other LuxTrust options besides the mobile version?
Right now, we only support LuxTrust Mobile. If you don’t have it, you can verify your identity via IDnow using your ID card or passport.
Should I use my private or my professional LuxTrust certificate?
It’s up to you! However, we recommend using your private certificate for convenience.
Why do you need my contact information?
We are legally required to notify you when an energy supplier or grid operator accesses or changes your data. We store your email address and mobile number only for these notifications.
Why am I getting notifications from Leneda?
We send notifications via email, SMS, and soon through the Leneda app, to keep you informed about updates and accesses to your data. In some cases, we also need your approval, such as when you request an offer from a new energy supplier. Your consent is required before they can view and analyze your data.
Who can onboard a company/organization in Leneda?
Legal representatives (as listed in official documents like an RCS extract, Memorial publication, or general assembly protocol) can onboard companies or respectively organizations.
Municipalities can be onboarded by mayors, deputies, or municipal secretaries.
Ownership Associations (“Copropriété”) must be onboarded by the current managing company (“Gérance”).
Check the full onboarding guide here.

Questions related to data access permissions

I finished my onboarding, but I don’t see my metering data. What should I do?
If you don’t see your metering data right away, it might be because your registration is still being processed by your grid operator, who uploads energy data to Leneda. You can request your data manually by following the "Add missing metering point" process here.
What type of data can I find in Leneda?
Leneda gives you insights into your electricity and gas consumption/production data. You can also see:
Who has access to your data
Your active energy contracts
Your personal data stored in Leneda
Currently, only measurement data from January 1, 2023, onwards is available. If you need older data, please contact your grid operator or energy supplier.
How can I access the energy data of a company/organization?
The company or organization must first be onboarded. Once onboarded, you need to be assigned a role that grants you access to the data. Learn more about roles and access management here.
I am a sharing group manager, but I can’t see the data of the sharing group. Why?
If the sharing group was created before you onboarded, the system may not have automatically recognized you as the manager. In this case, contact your grid operator with your Energy ID and Sharing Group Contract number to have your data uploaded.
I gave a third-party access to my OBIS codes, but now I want to add more. How do I do that?
Right now, you’ll need to cancel the original access permission and create a new one with all relevant OBIS codes.

Questions related to the user roles in Leneda

Who manages employee roles in Leneda?
If you’re a legal representative of a company or have the “User Administrator” role, you can assign roles to other users (like company employees). Currently, roles don’t have an expiration date, so it’s your responsibility to review and update them as needed.
Read more about roles here.
Can multiple people have the same role?
Yes! Companies and organizations can assign the same role to multiple people. If an entity has more than one legal representative, the Legal Representative role can be assigned to all of them. The only requirement is that at least one person or company takes on the role of legal representative.

Questions related to energy data

What are the meanings of the different registers / OBIS codes?
You can find a full list of OBIS codes and their definitions here.
Why is some electricity data indicated in kW and some in kWh?
The load curve recorded by the meter shows average power over a 15-minute period, measured in:
kW (active power)
kVar (reactive power)
For longer time periods (hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly), the data is shown as energy:
kWh (active energy)
kVarh (reactive energy)
How can I convert the kW values in the export to energy values in kWh?
As the export includes 15min power values, and as per physics energy equals power multiplied by time, you need to sum up the 15min values and divide by 4.
